New features will be added to this system incrementally over time. Help us prioritize our efforts by leaving us comments here.

Although we cannot implement every imaginable or nice-to-have feature, we do want to know what you feel would be the largest priorities, or even necessities, so that this system can better serve our community.

The following information will be updated right here over time (i.e. we will not be posting updates down in the comments as they could easily get lost among the feedback.)

Here are items that are already on the To Do list for the very near future:

  • Post Renewal (Bumping) option, including notification prior to old Posts being Deleted
  • View New Posts, and optionally Comments, since Last Visit, Today, Yesterday, or a specified date
  • Private Messages Mark as Read/Unread/Delete
  • Search Box Integration
  • Profile Pictures
  • YouTube Videos in Posts
  • Managed List of Links in Posts

Here are some items that we are currently unsure of the value of; let us know how important, or unimportant you feel they are:

  • Email Subscribe to a Forum Category on a Daily or Weekly basis
  • View Counts on Posts (these would increase server utilization for questionable value)

Finally, don’t forget to tell us what you like about the system as well; doing so can give us better insight when designing new features.

Delete read messages

Is there a way to delete forums that I have read?

I miss the view new posts feature already. Very handy in not missing anything and helps people see things in sections they otherwise would not frequent.

driving and miscellaneous

My two fav forums! Driving was very low use, but now anything posted will get buried in saddles and riding pants. Same with horse trailers, corral panels, and trucks

never mind, I found the miscellaneous! (can't find an edit post button...)

A quick reply to above questions

Because it has been requested twice already, we will be working on a way to easily see new posts / mark as read / something that services this purpose as the top priority.

If you wish to edit a post that you created, you can go about it in two ways: 1) navigate to the post in the correct category, and click on the title or the read more link to see the entire post. Then, look for an Edit button at the top right. 2) Or, you can click on the Forum Posts link under the heading of My Stuff at the top of the left menu. -- In both cases here, be sure that you are logged in, or else these options are not available.

Click on a photo to enlarge

I think it would be nice to be able to enlarge a photo by clicking on it. (eg in ads etc).

The new forum is looking good!

I don't like for sale/lease horses in the same section as I purposely like being able to see only one or the other. The page layout spreads all the posts apart really far and its not longer easy just to "scan" the section for what you're looking for. Really miss the old forums.

I would like to provide feedback/suggestion to HCBC to have an area where parents/guardians can submit their names on the household contact info so their children aren't required to be involved in the forum postings communication.

My daughter became a member of horse council as she rides (and I don't yet ;), though as she's only 12 yrs old I'd prefer that her name isn't out there on the HCBC forum postings.

I'd appreciate a response by the HCBC communications/tech dept. regarding if tis is possible.

Thank you so much for allowing input by members to create a better site! :)
