Donkeys and Mules Herd Health.
The Turtle Valley Donkey Refuge Society has an position available for the person who is looking for a career in Animal Welfare and who enjoys working with equines.
The Refuge is the permanent home for 103 Donkeys and Mules who have a wide range of ages and health concerns. The daily routine at the Refuge starts with the Feeding of the Donkeys and then the Barn Chores which is the cleaning of all the barns and paddocks and the spreading of clean bedding. The afternoons consist of Medical Care for the Donkeys in Need, Grooming, Farrier Visits and keeping the Barns full of Hay. The equipment used at the farm consist of tractors and flat trailers for moving the hay and the manure.
As with all Farm work the successful applicant will need to be physically fit, have a good work ethic, equine experience and a compassionate heart for the equines residing at the Refuge. Knowlege of Equine Health and Basic medical skills is an asset.
This position will include training if needed and is an opportunity for a career in Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation.
Wages will be based on Skills, Education and Experience.
