Day Ride Trail
This trail is part of the TCT and also the Sumas dyke system in Abbotsford. From MacDonald Park you can ride West for a loop ride beside the Sumas River to MacKay Creek Park and back along the dyke over another bridge. Or ride East following the TCT to the Vedder Canal and back again. When the river is low you can go under the bridge and ride all the way to Yarrow.

The trail is part of the TCT and also the Sumas Dyke system in Abbotsford. The trailhead is at McDonald Park. You can ride east or west on the dyke. West is a loop ride along the dyke over the bridge,through MaKay Creek Park and back to the dyke over another bridge (follow the TCT signs). East follows the TCT and dyke to the Vedder Canal and back again. When the river is low you can go under the bridge and go all the way to Yarrow. To get to the trailhead use the #1 Highway and take the #3 Rd exit to Cultus lake but go northwest back over the freeway (coming from the west). Drive up over the dyke and there is the parking lot. Covered picnic area, lots of picnic tables, washroom and lots of room for rigs. Easy flat trail, 3 bridges to cross, hikers, dog walkers, runners bikes and tons of birds to identify. Trail is wide enough for everyone. McKay Creek Park is another access point at the other end of the trail.

Access to MacDonald Park is from Highway #1, take the #3 Road Exit (Cultus Lake). Coming from the East, stay right and follow along to the end of the road. If coming from the West, double back over the Highway heading North, follow road straight to the end.
