Originally the trail started at Quesnel, then passes by the Blackwater River, Eliguk Lk, Basalt Lk Gatcho Lk and several others before crossing the Dean River

Follow the orangy/red route on the map. Distances: From #1 to #2 along the Chilliwack Lake Forestry Road is 7.9 kms or 4.9 miles. There is parking at #2 and trailers cannot be taken farther than this point. From #2 to #3, which is your first left fork in the road is 2.4 kms or 1.5 miles. From #3 to #4 which is again your only & first fork to your left is 3 kms or 1.9 miles From #4 to #5 is the old road for the first .7 kms and then you get on the trail and come out on the Upper Silverhope Road approximately 3 kms later. As of June 27, 2002, there was still pockets around 3 to 4 feet of snow half way through the trail but was melting fast From #5 to #6 is approximately 13kms or 8 miles down to the Silver Skagit Road and is a logging road ride. From #6 to #7 is along the Silver Skagit Road (Ross Lake Road) and is 14.5 kms or 9 miles long. From #7 to #8 is the Skagit River Trail from 26 mile bridge to Sumallo Grove and is about 15 kms or 9.3 miles. Check with BC Parks at 604 824-2300 before going on this section of the trail.

From Highway 1 take Vedder Road exit. Going south until you get to the stop sign at Vedder Bridge. Turn Left on to Chilliwack Lake Road continuing to the end of the pavement. Continue to travel on the rough logging road to Paleface Creek approx 8 kilometers. There is a small parking area.
