Camping is prohibited in the protected area. Scouts Canada have special permission to continue using the southern portion of the protected area for camping.
The value of the park lies in its rare wildlife. Tread lightly wherever you go. Use only established trails to help minimize disturbance and prevent the spread of unwanted plant species. Horses and horseback riding are permitted. The open pine forest and grasslands are great for riding, though there are few designated trails. Stay Safe: The extremely hot, dry Okanagan climate can result in overexposure to the sun. Visitors should use a sunscreen and wear a hat during long periods in the sun. Hikers are reminded to bring plenty of water (there is none available in the park) and consider scheduling their activities to avoid the heat of the day. Hunting is permitted in most areas. Take White Lake Road to White Lake, continue past Parri Road, then you will come to Kilometer O sign, just before the dirt road, then a sign for Parri Creek-Forest Road will be on left, White Lake Park is on the right, (you can ride up to the trail head from a road to left just before bridge), cross wooden bridge stay on logging road, cross cattle guard, when you reach road junction, follow sign for Herman Lake, trail head on right if you cross another cattle guard you have gone to far. It is approximately 12 kilometers from the beginning of Parri Road. For all the out of towners who may be interested in visiting this camp, call Shuswap Chapter BCHBC if you need more information. Don’t forget this is a “Leave No Trace Camp” take out what you bring in. Enjoy the stay.
