Cowboy Mounted Shooters Association of BC

If you are looking for a sport straight out of the old Western movies, this is it. Cowboy Mounted shooting is a timed event. It uses a set of 10 balloons attached to stands, set in one of more than 50 approved patterns. A rider uses two .45 caliber, single action revolvers, each carrying five rounds of blanks that have an effective range of 10-15 feet. Mounted shooting requires multiple skills, as it relies not only on the horses' speed and riders horsemanship, but also the riders shooting skills and accuracy.

The Golden Light Horse Club is a group of equine enthusiasts who enjoy getting together to talk, work, enjoy and learn about horses! We offer a variety of horsemanship activities at our Rodeo Grounds which include Western Riding, Trail Class and Equitation Riding. We continue to hold monthly Gymkhana events at the above location. We also promote and participate in several Trail Rides and/or Poker Rider throughout our beautiful Columbia Valley. We enjoy getting together for potluck dinners, BBQ's and to just shoot the breeze.
