Pacific Crest Trail

Day Ride Trail
The Pacific Crest Trail is the jewel in the crown of Americas scenic trails, spanning 2,650 miles from Mexico to Canada through three western states. It reveals the beauty of the desert, unfolds the glaciated expanses of the Sierra Nevada, and provides commanding vistas of volcanic peaks and glaciers in the Cascade Range. The trail also passes through historic mining sites and evidence of humans endless quest for natural resources. Thousands of hikers and equestrians enjoy this national treasure each year. Some only travel a few miles, while others complete every mile in a single season.

Zigzagging its way from Mexico to Canada through California, Oregon and Washington the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) boasts the greatest elevation changes of any of America's National Scenic Trails. In 1988 BCHBC founder Jim McCrae rode the PCT in its entirety. The diary of his trip is on the Back Country Horsemen of BC website under the Pacific Crest Trail information at http://www.bchorsemen.org More information on the trail at the Pacific Crest Trail Association website at: http://www.pcta.org/
Note: Also check under Upload/Download tab to see if there are more maps available. If the map below shows red lines, these indicate ridable trails which can be downloaded to your GPS (see Upload/Download tab)
