Island 22 Horse Park

Day Ride Trail
Island 22 Horse Park is designed mostly as a cross country training facility but does allow day users. There are many trails that weave in and out and are are perfect for beginning trail users. The park is only 45 hectares, with a BMX park close by. Horses are not allowed on the north side of the road. A casual ride around the perimeter would probably take just over 30 minutes but if you weave in and out of the trails it can take you much longer.

Cross country training facility. Off season is free, but when the gate house is opened June 1st, the price is ten dollars per rider and horse combination. This is paid at the gate house with a waiver to sign. The day use fee is for use of the rings, jumps and trails. The money goes to the FVRD. The jumps are all built and maintained by the society. There are ditches, water jumps and cross country jumps from levels Pre entry up to Preliminary open for use. As the jumps are all portables they get moved around a few times a year making training that much more exciting. A lot of riders go there to do galloping and conditioning work. There are no hills but the trails are safe and clean. There are no off leash dogs allowed on the park at all. The district has built a fenced in off leash dog area on the north side. . Expect mini horses being driven at this location. Heavy mosquitoes in July.
