Crystal Lake Trail

Back Country Trail
The Crystal Lake Trail is Located in Tweedsmuir Park, west of Williams Lake. From the Rainbow Range Trailhead the trail branches northwest off of Octopus Lake Trail about 3 km from the Rainbow Range trailhead and leads through scenic alpine terrain to the Mackenzie Valley. The trail can be difficult to follow at times, look for cairns and use of gps will help. Go to the Tweedsmuir Provincial Park Record in the HCBC Trails Database for more info including connecting trails for pack trip loops.

Creeks and streams
Horse camping at Lester's Camp approximately 9 km from the trailhead.
Crystal Lake trail starts in burnt lodgepole pine forest. At the fork (Octopus Lake Trail Left)) Crystal Lake trail forks right as it climbs to a small alpine plateau, then drops down to Young Creek and Lester's Camp. Rainbow cabin is approx. 11 km. Ride west from Lester's camp, following cairns up to a ridge leading to Crystal Lake. The trail will join the Alexander Mackenzie Heritage Trail and its about 1 km from there to Rainbow Cabin. In the Rainbow Range, hikers and horseback riders can enjoy long, rambling alpine and subalpine trails with lots of options for loop tours. Off BC Highway 20 approximately. 40 km West of Anahim Lake.
