One Spot trail

Day Ride Trail
The Comox Valley owes much of its history and development to the logging that operated in the area in the early twentieth century. The One Spot Trail is built upon the old Comox logging grade that ran from Headquarters to Royston. Take a stroll or ride along this historic trail and take a step back in time to learn about the history of logging in the Comox Valley and observe the present day ecology of the second growth forests and the productive agricultural lands of the area. Interpretive signs along the trail describe the past, present and future of the area and provide an interesting history of the trail. The trail is in two parts - the first is eight kilometres long and begins from Condensory Road near Cessford Road, ending near the Tsolum River at Todd Rd. It was built primarily for horseback riding. The trail surface is mostly packed gravel and some sections are actual road beds that are shared with limited vehicle traffic. Expect horses, runners, bikes, strollers, and summertime bears. Note the new extension to Wildwood Trails on the map. Wildwood has a trail entry in this database. Walking, cycling and horseback riding are all permitted. Please exercise proper trail etiquette. Bikers should call out to hikers and equestrians to warn them of their approach. The second part on the trail starts on the north side of the Tsolum River at Toslum Spirit Park. It follows the grade along beside Heart of the Valley farm, expect bulls, cows and machinery adjacent to the trail. It crosses over Fitzgerald Rd at Farnham Rd, then angles over and crosses Headquarters Rd, and parallels behind the houses on Railway. It ends at Spike Rd - where you can park your trailer. The trail will continue from there in 2023 towards Endall Rd.

None for Horses
A horse trailer pull-off and hitching rail is located on Burns Road adjacent to trail. Accommodates 2 rigs. If this is full, you can park on Stapley Road further along Burns on the left, on the side of the road. Lots of big driveways to turn around. You can park at the far end of the trail at Todd Rd (off Dove Creek Rd) , either on the side of that road or go down to the T intersection where the trail actually starts and pull off to the left without blocking the yellow gate, you can turn around by backing up down the road behind you. You can also park at the mailboxes on Fitzgerald right before the turn to Farham Rd and ride either way on the trail.
There is also the One Spot extension mentioned above. This starts on the far side of the Tsolum River at Tsolum Spirit Park on Tsolum River Road.
