This is not available for public riding only guided tour companies The location of 2010 Olympic cross country ski competition and other Olympic events has opened the Madeley Creek trail network in the Callaghan Valley to horseback riders on a trial basis for the summer of 2011. Note that proof of HCBC membership or other equine association membership providing liability insurance is required.

Please be advised that Whistler Olympic Park will be conducting a trial of public horse riding use of its trail network during the 2011 summer season (from June 9 to September 5) to determine whether this is an offering that will be made on an ongoing basis. For the purposes of this trial: Riders will be required to: • Purchase a day ticket at a cost of $10 from the Park Day Lodge. • Access the Park between 10am and 6pm only. • Park in the designated/exclusive trailer parking below the Day Lodge/Visitor Centre (P1) where water will be available for horses. • Use the Madeley Creek Trail network only (see map: http://www.whistlerolympicpark.com/Portals/0/TrailMapInner-24x9-15Nov10-Web.pdf) • Show proof of Horse Council of BC (or equivalent inter-provincial) membership • Abide by the Horse Council of BC Trail Users Code of Ethics(see details: http://www.hcbc.ca/Trail-Etiquette.html) Riders will not be able to: • Camp • Park overnight • Access any trails apart from the Madeley Trail network If you have any questions about this trial, please do not hesitate to contact: The Whistler Olympic Park 5 Callaghan Valley Road, Callaghan Valley, BC Phone: 604-964-0060 Toll Free: 1-877-764-2455 E-mail: [email protected] Please note that due to heavy and late winter conditions, use of the full Madeley Creek Trail network may not possible until a number of week after the scheduled opening.

Whistler Olympic/Paralympic Park is located just 16 kilometres southwest of Whistler, 50 kilometres north of Squamish and 115 kilometres north of Vancouver in beautiful British Columbia, Canada From Whistler: Head south on Highway 99 towards Squamish/Vancouver. Turn right onto the new Callaghan Valley access road 6.5 kilometres from the last set of traffic lights (at Function Junction) in Whistler. The entrance to Whistler Olympic/Paralympic Park and Callaghan Country skiing can be found just 9 kilometres up the Callaghan Valley Road. Our entrance Gate House can be found 100m beyond the official Olympic Park sign. From Vancouver/Squamish: Head north on Highway 99 towards Whistler. Turn left onto the new Callaghan Valley access road 40 kilometres from the set of lights at Garibaldi Way in Squamish (Look for the Petro-Canada gas station in Squamish). The entrance to Whistler Olympic/Paralympic Park and Callaghan Country skiing can be found just 9 kilometres up the Callaghan Valley Road. Our entrance Gate House can be found 100m beyond the official Olympic Park sign.
