Horse Camping Site
The 100 Mile House area boasts about 150km of groomed cross country ski trails that are suitable for horseback riding when ski season is over. The 108 Mile ski trails north of the highway are excellent for horses. No motorized vehicles are allowed on the trails. Trails can be accessed via Spruce Hill Resort which also accommodates equestrian camping.

At Spruce Hill Resort there are equestrian campsites. Currently there are 18 corrals. S Cariboo Chapter of BCHBC has been hard at work upgrading the corrals. There is a site rental fee which includes a corral, along with access to the Resorts pool, hot tub and showers. There is also a restaurant on site. There is no power to the camp sites. Contact: www.sprucehillresort.com for the most current information on fees and availability.
There is a trail map available at the resort of all the trails. There is also a trail riding company for trail rides should you not have a horse.

North of 100 Mile House - watch for Spruce Hills Resort sign on the east side of the highway.

FYI Sharing the following reply I received from Spruce Hills Resort Aug 2022. Be prepared to be self contained. "Campers are responsible for the manure removal and garbage. The outhouses are not always maintained, however if you need anything please come to the front desk for assistance. There is a central watering area available in the campsite, but we ask that you do not hook up to it as it is to be available for everyone to use. The rate is $40 per night and you have use of the fitness centre, trails and pool when open. If you have any questions please give us a call at 778-885-0828."

New management under the name of Spruce Hill Resort & Spa 250-791-5225. South Cariboo Chapter of Back Country Horsemen has been hard at work upgrading the corrals. Dry camping is still available on our property. Campers have full use of the pool, whirlpool, fitness centre and hiking trail system at no additional cost. Site rentals are $30 per night plus taxes. Majority of the sites have a least one paddock assigned and included in the site rental fee. https://www.sprucehillresort.com/

I go here 2 times per year to ride. It is a long drive from Smither's but can do it in a day with a few stops to let the horses out to stretch. Outstanding facilities with everything you could want in one place. Riding is exceptional and corrals are safe and secure.
