Brewster Horse Camp & Trail Corridor

Horse Camping Site
There are two developed horse camps, one at each end of the Salmon Brewster non-motorized approximately 40 km trail corridor. The main trail corridor is ‘fresh’ and needs hoof prints as we continue to develop it, go slow and be aware of your footing. there is also a nice 2 hr loop around another local lake. the brewster lake area is rich with history and we are working on gathering the history to share with everyone. These are forestry ‘recreation sites and trails’ and there is currently no fee, maximum stay is 14 days. The Backcountry horsemen of BC –north vancouver island chapter has a 10 year agreement to manage (maintain), donations are welcome!

Brewster water is from the lake. We recommend you bring some with you.
Yes
Brewster Lake horse camp features a more open site with no ‘designated camping spots’, there are two larger corrals and space to highline or set up panels, electric fence, etc. This site is across from the lake and the area is quite well used by all kinds of recreational minded folk. the area offers great fishing, canoeing, kayaking, hiking and horseback riding.
These are remote sites within a working forest. there is no cell coverage. Be bear aware and respect wildlife. We ask that you sign the visitor book each time you visit to ensure we keep our user stats up to date. It is critical for the right to ride. Agreement: BCHBC – North Island Chapter has entered into a 10 year agreement to manage and maintain the Salmon Brewster horse camps/trail corridor - help us by using, keeping it clean, making a donation towards maintenance. Much appreciated.

Big thanks to BCHBC South Vancouver Island chapter who have donated their time and material to construct two new paddocks this easter weekend (April 2019). There are now Four large paddocks!
