Silver Star Provincial Park

Day Ride Trail
Silver Star Provincial Park is a 5573 hectare park lying 22 kilometres to the Northeast of the city of Vernon. This rounded mountain is typical feature of the Okanagan – Western Shuswap Highland regional landscape. With its elevation change from the valley floor, Silver Star Provincial Park offers a refreshing break from the summer heat that is typical of the Okanagan. The Cross Country and Snowmobile trails are wide and offer a long sight line. Much of the area is sub alpine balsam spruce forest.

Horse Trailer parking is located in the large parking space across from the Sovereign Lake Ski Club gated driveway.
Horses and/or horseback riding is permitted within the park. Please stay to designated ski and snowmobile trails. Some ski trails, especially around the Lake will not be suitable for horses due to boggy/swampy sections. The snowmobile trails are good. Maps for horse use will be coming in 2025.
Note: Also check under Files Maps Upload/Download tab to see if there are more maps available. If the map below shows red lines, these indicate ridable trails which can be downloaded to your GPS (see Files Maps Upload/Download tab)
Silver Star is accessed by turning off of Highway 97 onto 48th Ave. Continue up 48th and it will turn into Silver Star Road. The park is 22 kilometres up Silver Star Road. Turn left at the Sovereign Lake Ski Club sign. The road is gravel for 2 km to the parking area.

We have an Equestrian map for summer use here at Silver Star Provincial Park! Please stay on these designated trails as they will keep you away from trails that remain boggy year round, and keeps our relationship strong with those who supported us. Go to the Maps Tab to download.
