Wells Gray has something to offer every outdoor interest: lush alpine meadows, excellent birding and wildlife viewing opportunities; hiking for every ability, ranging from a few minutes on a level trail to many days with a map and compass; boating, canoeing and kayaking. Guiding businesses offer horseback riding, canoeing, river-rafting, fishing and hiking; and the history enthusiast can learn about the early homesteaders, trappers, and prospectors, or about the natural forces that produced Wells Gray’s many volcanoes, waterfalls, mineral springs and glaciers.

Yes, water is available at the golf Resort and there is a creek beside the horse camping area.
The parking at the Well Gray Resort is an large open area. You can camp by the corrals and creek or over where you can hi-line. See photo of camping area.
The Wells Gray RV and Golf Resort is private and is outside park boundaries. The North Thompson Chapter of Back Country Horsemen built 20 corrals at the golf resort. Hi-lining is also available. Toilets, Water and hot showers. Contact Well Gray Golf for more information and current rates. The campsite closely borders on the park boundary. The trails are within the park boundaries. There are no camping facilities for equestrian use inside park boundaries. Horse use is restricted in Wells Gray Park to basically the Canyonlands. You can also apply for a permit to travel into the Battle Mtn/ Table Mtn area, but it is heavily dependent on conditions and heavily regulated. May also be cancelled with 24 hrs notice.
Horse Use is permitted in many areas of the Park. these trails include: the Flat Iron, Hemp Creek Canyon Lands, Hoodoo Rim Trail, Green Mountain, White Horse Bluffs, Tote Road, Still water, Majerus, Blackwater, and Bee Farm. The Green Mountain trail system, in the Corridor Area is open to horse use. Companies along the Wells Gray Park Road offer guided horse riding and the park offers a number of other recreational opportunities (including guided horseback tours). Park can be accessed off Hwy #5 at Clearwater or turn off Hwy 97 at 100 Mile House. Murtle Lake is accessed off highway 5 at Blue River. For more details, see description of various areas of the park.

There are excellent camping facilities for horses at Wells Gray Golf Course. On the creek, with showers and toilets.
