The Historical Dewdney Trail commences at the Cascade parking lot located 12 km east of the west entrance to the park or 30 km west of the Manning Park Visitor Centre and ends at Dick's cabin on the Whipsaw Road. The most popular section is the 14 km ride up to Paradise Valley. This is a technically difficult non-motorized trail used by horseback riders and hikers. Back country Horsemen - Aldergrove Chapter through a Partnership Agreement with BC Parks maintains the trail with support from Hope Mountain Centre.

The Cascade Recreation Area parking lot (elevation 769 m) is located 12 km east of the west entrance to Manning park. This area can also be accessed from the Whitecloud staging area on the Tulameen Forest Service Road at 52 km.
Camping: at Cascade Trailhead with BCParks permission, The Cascade parking lot consists of a 20 vehicle parking area, 2 pit toilets and 3 hitching rails. Backcountry camping is at Snassview Camp (Hikers only) Tulameen Camp, Hubbard Creek and Paddy's Pond.
Begin at the parking lot and follow the west side of Snass Creek heading north. The trail is straightforward, gradually gaining distance rather than elevation. At 2.5 km, watch for the Whatcom Trail branching off to the east (hiking only). Continue straight to reach Dry Lake at 3.5 km. Beyond Dry Lake, the route becomes more demanding, climbing steadily for 12.5 km through a long valley toward Paradise Valley. As you near the upper canyon, take time to refill your water bottles—reliable water becomes scarce beyond this point. Snass View Camp sits at the junction with the Whatcom Trail and marks the western edge of Paradise Valley. This is a designated hikers-only campsite with limited water access. From here, the trail heads northwest for 1 km to another junction. Taking the left fork leads onto the Warburton Trail, a 6 km loop that climbs gently toward Tulameen Horse Camp. Along the way, you’ll pass the remnants of the Evans family cow camp, a reminder of cattle drives in the 1950s. About 3 km from Snass View Camp, you’ll reach Warburton Horse Camp, where a cabin built around 1980 still stands. The area is named after Nurse Warburton, who famously survived seven days lost in the wilderness before being rescued. Continuing another 3 km brings you to Tulameen Horse Camp, with excellent views south to Snass Mountain (2,310 m). From here, the trail crosses the Tulameen River after roughly 2 km, then follows Hubbard Creek for 6 km to a scenic meadow and Hubbard Creek Camp. From this camp, a 4 km trip east leads to Paddy’s Pond, a dependable water source. Route options expand here: head north for a long 30 km journey to Coalmont, or continue east for 6 km to Dick’s Cabin. Dick’s Cabin, at 1,900 m elevation, offers sweeping alpine views and seasonal wildflowers. From this point, you can return the way you came, attempt the (currently closed) Hope Pass Trail, or continue east along Whipsaw Creek on a logging road.

White cloud lake to warburton horse camp: distance posted on: 08 / 22 / 2016

At the top of the deactivated White Cloud lake road, there is a junction: straight ahead or go left down into some old cut. I hiked left and eventually came to the war burton loop. As I was heading for Snass view camp, I went right but could not complete the loop because of THE MARSH,so I got to Snass view camp via the Tulameen camp ..a long way around! Back to the White Cloud lake junction...if I go straight ahead, will this take me to the Warburton horse camp and if so, how many km is it?
