Comox Valley Therapeutic Riding Society

The Comox Valley Therapeutic Riding Society (CVTRS) has been steadily growing since it began in 1986 with a mission to provide a therapeutic riding program for physically, cognitively and psychologically challenged children and adults using hippotherapy, equine facilitated mental health wellness and adaptive riding. Today, with help of over 60 volunteers, we conduct a professional, nationally accredited therapeutic riding program on Vancouver Island, with 70 clients attending each week, the majority of who are from marginalized populations.

The Comox Valley Therapeutic Riding Society (CVTRS) is dedicated to providing a unique combination of equine related therapy for children and adults with special needs.

We are a dressage club supporting the grass roots progression of dancing with our horses. We believe in promoting our youth by offering sponsorships, as well as working with our local Pony Club. We offer 2 HCBC sanctioned shows per year and test days in the off season.

We organize monthly rides ranging from day rides to 10 day rides. We have overnight camping facilities for us and our horses on Vancouver Island's Malahat near Oliphant Lake. We represent the interests of horse owners. We organize annual rides such as the 100 Mile Ride, Poker Ride, 50 Mile Ride, 25 Mile Ride, St. Patrick's Day Ride, Father's Day Ride, Not Yet Winter Ride, New Year's Day Ride, and many more. Metchosin Equestrian Society

MES is our non profit equestrian society in Metchosin BC, a rural area outside of Victoria on Vancouver Island. We offer events and rental of our outdoor riding ring facilities. We also promote riding trails in our municipality. Visit our website at: http://www.mesmetchosin.org/

The Metchosin Equestrian Society is an all discipline supporting horse club. The main focus is helping provide education, facility and resources to local riders and enthusiasts whilst creating a united community sharing the same interest. A large fenced riding ring and smaller warmup ring, in the heart of Metchosin, are available to all discipline riders/drivers for fun and training. The club also promotes clinics and shows at the ring. Occasionally group trail rides originate from the ring and follow the many trails in Metchosin. Volunteers help maintain the local trails and the ring facility which includes a grandstand with a small concession.
